Crusting Cream Cheese Frosting

Crusting Cream Cheese Icing
 (This Recipe from cake central has been adapted by Lyndsay Z)

Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
1 pound cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
3 1/2 pounds sifted confectioner’s sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
juice of 1/lemon or 1 tablespoon

Instructions
Cream butter, shortening, cream cheese and extracts. Gradually add confectioner’s sugar and salt. Beat on low speed until nice and creamy. This is a great base for decorating a smoothly frosted cake or using fondant. I found the recipe on cake central but had to modify it as it was too sweet in its original cast. The lemon juice cut the sweet and the bean paste made up for the extra liquid of the lemon. Enjoy decorating those cakes and of course this is absolutely brilliant for cupcakes.

Valentines Day Cupcake Liners

 We just finished up our Valentine's Day cupcake liner set, aren't they lovely?

Shipping them over the border in time for Valentine's Day may be dicey after February 2nd, so you may want to hop over to our wee little web store and grab some! They are posing today in a brand new Chicago metallic large mini cupcake pan/tart pan so the liners are a wee bit taller than the tin, but this is OK! In fact it is great for your cakes .... the tops do not dry out and crack from the heat of the top of the tin ... I am a cake genius! *battin lashes* Another tip I would like to share is that when you bake your large minis do so in a 325F oven .... it reduces a dry dark bottom and who wants that to happen to their bottoms' I can think of better things.
