Red Velvet Kŭp’kāks w. Vanilla Bean Cream Cheese Frosting

This is Melissa writing from Le Petite Kŭpkāk. I created the most fabulous cupcake ever! Well, it's one of my favorites thus far. I know for a lot of people this is their favorite cupcake flavor and the other night I decided to do a trial run for my friends engagement party; they are so darn cupcakalicious! I did a traditional red velvet recipe, and baked them in glassine red cupcake liners and chocolate brown cupcake liners. The frosting is a traditional cream cheese frosting recipe, but I kicked it up a notch by incorporating Madagascar bourbon pure vanilla bean paste; all of these items are of course available through sweet cuppin cakes online store. The recipe is available on my blog.

A while back I was invited to be a featured artist for a company I adore. It was a thrill. You can check out the details on my other blog Cupcakes, Cupcakes, Cupcakes

Lemon Buttermilk Cupcakes w. Blueberry Cream Cheese Frosting and Blueberry Linzer Cookies

Back in December Lyndsay from sweet cuppin cakes bakery sent me a flower linzer cookie cutter set to create a cookie/cupcake combo. Well, with being sick for almost the entire month of December I finally got around to making the combo. I will admit that I was a little distressed about pairing the two because I couldn't come up with a good combo. I decided to do one of my and my taster's favorites: a lemon buttermilk cupcake with blueberry cream cheese frosting and a buttery blueberry linzer cookie. This cupcake is probably one of the best ones I have made in a while. The cake is super moist, creamy frosting and a crisp cookie. Plus, I absolutely loved the linzer cookie cutter and its recipe. The set came with a recipe card and directions, which made it easy to use and follow. I think I will be creating a lot more with the this cookie cutter. Visit sweet cuppin cakes bakery to see her online store, there is a great selection!

The cupcake on the left is lemon with a traditional cream cheese frosting, and the one on the right is lemon with blueberry cream cheese frosting.

For Christmas, my Mother gave me a mini giant cupcake pan, I thought that the large flower cookie made a great addition.

Guest Bloggers and Testers

Recently we have had many of our customers get back to us on our products and how they work. A hands on experience of taste, touch, smell and create, I think, brings dimensional perception of what the heck we are selling. Melissa, I recruited in December, I liked her a bunch. I have had Natalie and Marilla try out some products as well and will hope that soon I can have them here to blog about items they have used. Jess over at cakespy and I have a couple things baking up for March as I could not get my idea exact for a while. As we get ready for our totally cool blog, This morning I will warm you up by just showing one pic of Melissa's task, I love it.

Fleur de Sel

Petite Maison finishing salt. The perfect salt to capture the sweet ~ salt taste many of us adore. We use this finishing salt in most of our recipes, and I must say it is truly worth the switch. Sometimes a luxury is well worth the indulgence especially if you have outgrown a cake mix. Available in our online store for a limited time.
This " flower of salt" has been hand harvested on the Ile de Noirmoutier off of France's Vendée coast in the Atlantic Ocean.
It's complex lasting essence in neither too strong nor too bitter, and is praised by the world's top chefs for it's natural rich taste.

Comes in a pretty 5.2 oz (150 gr) jar
